Along The Way (Two Nights With Bad Religion)

Last June 17th and 18th Bad Religion toured Spain visiting Madrid and Barcelona. I was lucky enough to see them both nights and this is my special tribute to my favourite band.

Bad Religion is the best band in the entire world, and there’s no need for them to Prove It. All of You know that I love them, and that I do whatever I have to just to see them once and again live, Believe It. Before these two nights (June 17th and 18th) I had alredy seen them twelve times but, talking about Bad Religion, How Much Is Enough?.

I have witnessed all the band evolution throughout these years, and everytime I see them I feel like I Can’t Stop ItSince each show Overture I get crazy and I feel like I Want To Conquer The World. These two nights were not an exception. I know I’m getting older, so is the band (that is an Inner Logic), but when I see and listen to Greg and his mates, I become an Automatic Man who can’t stop smiling, singing and dancing to each of their songs. It was a while since the last time I got my body full of bruises because of a show, but when you are enjoying your favourite band ever, What Can You Do?. You jump, you mosh and you feel great, just as if you had some kind of Anesthesia called music

Times goes by, but Bad Religion live shows and lyrics still remain. There is always that No Control sense and that 90s feeling in the enviroment which creates a Delirium Of Disorder within the audience. No matter where you are at, front or back, you will probably Raise Your Voice to a Bad Religion live song. And this is what happened both in Madrid and Barcelona.

Setlist are extremely picked as a process of Scrutiny where the question of Quality or Quantity has no place at all. Old songs mix with new ones in a Supersonic way, and when the show is over, you feel like You’ve Got A Chance of travelling within time from the Big Bang to the 21st Century (Digital Boy).

If you guys love Bad Religion, you don’t need to Sufferyou don’t need to feel Sorrow and you don’t need any Change Of Ideas, because this band is still The Defense of Punk Rock sound. After 34 years, Greg Graffin is a Man With A Mission who will keep on showing us the Positive Aspect Of Negative Thinking  until we find the True North.

To sum up, a Bad Religion show is something Where The Fun Is and, In Some Many Ways, it feels like a masterclass where both music and lyrics join together to remind us that it is impossible to live in A World Without Melody. If I were you, I would go to, at least, one Bad Religion show Before You Die. Take this as a friend’s advice.

Thank you for the  1000 Memories and All Fantastic Images of these two nights which will sure help me to go through the brief waiting until I see you again, next September in Oviedo. Because even if I have seen you fourteen times so far, I still feel Anxiety for the next one. And it will always be that way, Don’t Sell Me Short, I’ll do anything for shows to keep coming
